Ever since the Hill County Courthouse burned down, Texas has been very active in seeing that that all of our historic courthouses have a fighting chance to be restored and maintained. Having had a personal part in the initiative to create the Courthouse Restoration Program through the restoration of Hill County and work with the Texas Historic Commission, I’ve come to appreciate just how impressive our courthouses are as a living collection of Texas history.
